Lawrenceville

LAWRENCEVILLE is a unique Pittsburgh neighborhood that has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past decade, from it's century old working class roots, to an ideal place for young professionals to live.  Lawrenceville has become a hip place for Pittsburghers who aren't ready for the suburbs and want an urban lifestyle where they can walk to restaurants and easily ride the bus or their bikes to work downtown or to the nearby hospitals. 

Many of the old row houses, built in the late 1800's, are being "flipped" by investors, who gut the homes and then completely remodel them, opening up the floor plans and exposing the original brick walls.  Investors can still find properties worth investing in, although most of the renovations require considerable time and money, and the real estate purchases are often done in cash.  For the people who choose to call Lawrenceville home, the influx of cash has helped to revitalize neighborhoods and increase real estate values.
